The 10th General Assembly of the Latin Evangelical Alliance (AEL), which is taking place in Brasilia, is proceeding according to schedule.
On its second day, yesterday, Tuesday, the work meetings of the presidents and the different commissions of the AEL took place.
The presidents’ meeting was attended by the general secretary of the World Evangelical Alliance (WEA), Thomas Schirrmacher. A participation that was received with much gratitude by the representatives of AEL, who dedicated a very moving moment of prayer to him (see image).

This was followed by the three main presentations of the day, followed by round table discussions.
The lawyer of the National Association of Evangelical Jurists (ANAJURE), Edna Vasconcelos, began the session with the theme “Introduction to the Regulatory Compliance required of the ecclesiastical structure”.
Then the lawyer Luigi Braga took the floor to discuss the “Main challenges in risk management, money laundering and other crimes in the Churches”.
In the third block, the executive secretary of the Federation of Evangelical Religious Entities of Spain (FEREDE), Carolina Bueno, and the secretary of AEL, Mariano Blázquez, spoke on “The implementation of effective regulatory compliance programs”.
Finally, President Juan Cruz Cellammare and Vice President Louder Garabedian prayed for the entire work team.
REQUEST FOR SUPPORT TO ISRAEL

GALA DINNER FOR THE 10TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE AEL
The celebration for the 10th anniversary of the Alianza Evangélica Latina (AEL) took place yesterday, Wednesday, at the Coco Bambú restaurant, in the district of Aguas Claras. The event began with words of thanks from the president Juan Cruz Cellammare to everyone present for accompanying this special moment for the evangelical church. In addition, he paid tribute to Honduras for being from this country Alberto Solorzano, the first to preside the AEL in 2013.
Then, the new institutional video for the 10 years of the AEL was presented, where a historical review was made and the work at the service of the people.
Cellammare pointed out that, in the past, Latin America received many missionaries, but nowadays it is one of the countries that sends more missionaries around the world.
WEA General Secretary, Thomas Schirrmacher, took the floor to thank God for this opportunity and stressed that the work done by the churches of the AEL is admirable for bringing the gospel and service to multiple communities, especially considering that in most Latin American nations there are high levels of poverty and their people need comprehensive care.
Evelyn Ayarza, representative of Lectura Pública de la Biblia, an entity associated with the AEL, explained that the application in Playstore and Appstore has already received one million downloads, testifying to the success that this resource is experiencing.
Jorge Scopazzo, the main promoter of the audio Bible in Portuguese, revealed that they are working on it and that the release will take place in the near future.
Commemorative plaques were presented to each entity associated with the Alianza Evangélica Latina (AEL).
Pastor Cellammare invited Pastors Edgar Castaño, Cirilo Cruz, Rigoberto Vega, Estuardo López, Gabriel Salguero, Mariano Blázquez, and others to pray for them and honor them for being part of the founding of the AEL.
It is well known that the AEL has already made an agreement with the Organization of American States (OAS). At the time, former President Rubén Proietti encouraged Eduardo Gómez (current Vice President of CEDECOL) to contact the Secretary of the OAS, Luis Almagro. After numerous meetings, an agreement was reached that persists to this day, being testimony of their close relationship the last forum on Democracy in the Americas and the Role of Evangelical Alliances in the Latin Church, held on August 15 of this year.
This Thursday is the last day of the 10th Assembly, which will have as a highlight a visit to the headquarters of the Federal Senate of Brazil, the Petronio Portela Auditorium, where a special session will take place.

The Latin Evangelical Alliance (AEL) had its origin in the Ibero-American Forum of Evangelical Dialogue (FIDE), promoted by the World Evangelical Alliance (WEA), which since 2001 has worked to integrate and strengthen the fraternal relationship between the different national Evangelical Alliances and Fellowships of different Ibero-American countries.
Likewise, meetings have been held in countries such as: Venezuela, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Bolivia, Mexico, Thailand, Guatemala, Cape Town and Panama.
The last FIDE meeting was held on November 1 and 2, 2013 in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. There, it was agreed to expand competencies and purposes, and to transform the entity formally constituting the Latin Evangelical Alliance (AEL), an agreement that is recorded in the Founding Act of November 2, 2013 signed by delegates of Evangelical Alliances from 21 countries.
With the vision of being a Latin Evangelical entity of representation and integration, in unity and dialogue, they intend to achieve the socio-spiritual transformation, promoting the extension of the Kingdom of God and contributing to the discipleship of the nations.
