Before Siegfried and Oliver Fietz did song during the birthday party for Manfred Kohl on his 80th birthday, Thomas Schirrmacher had a special meeting with the two. Thomas was a boy and teenager when Siegfried became famous and knows very many of his 3000 songs. His daughter Esther accompanied him and told, that she grew up with many of the children’s songs of Siegfried, especially the musical setting of christian animal stories.
Thomas Schirrmacher always invited the two singers to accompany him when laying a wreath for WEA in Yad Vashem on behalf of the millions of Jews killed during the holocaust. The two accepted the invitation.
