“Recently, there were people within the Presbyterian Church who are raising various groundless questions and criticisms about the theological identity of the World Evangelical Alliance (WEA) and claiming to cut off exchanges at the general level. Reveals the responses sent to the Theological Seminary of the Presbyterian Church of Korea and the Professor of Theological Seminary of Chongshin University, twice in 2019 and 2021. In his response, Dr. Schirrmacher has a theological direction and identity as the head of WEA and the World Evangelical Alliance. He expressed a clear position on religious pluralism. Suspicion of the 10th WCC Busan General Assembly speech because of inclusive theology, liberal theology, communism, homosexuality, and prohibition of conversion, are obviously wrong. I hope this public response serves as an opportunity to confirm just how unfounded the questions and criticisms of the WEA are.”

The Korean church is currently facing a serious crisis due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the spread of anti-Christian sentiment and culture. Under this circumstance, the 106th Joint General Assembly of Arts and Culture, to be held on September 13-17, 2021, should stop the WEA attrition and be reborn as a general meeting that gives hope to Korean society and the nation. The World Evangelical Alliance (WEA) is a sound evangelical international organization with a history of 175 years, rooted in the Evangelical Alliance (EA) founded in London, England in 1846.
