The Secretary General of WEA together with his two Deputies and WEA’s Permanent Representative to the UN discussed the most urgent needs around hunger in the world with the the Executive Director of the United Nations World Food Programme, David Beasley, who was accompanied by his PA David Austin. The SG thanked Beasley for his unbiased efforts despite having been nominated by Trump, this for the SG being the reason, why so far President Biden backs him in his office. Beasley in turn asked WEA to help reach out to business people to help feed the hungry, as companies easily can direct funds through the UN to countries, where they are doing business or are otherwise engaged. Schirrmacher and Beasley are old friends long for before the two assumed their present offices.
